As a friend you can make a difference

The Friends of the Crown Point Library are members of the community with an interest both in supporting the many services currently offered by the library and providing additional resources for programs and services.

The Friends strive to enhance and promote the use and enjoyment of the library, as well as sponsor special programs and activities. The Friends also develop supplemental funding for the library and actively support its policies and procedures.

Membership is open to individuals and families who want involvement in the library. The opportunities are as varied as the materials and services offered by the library. Your modest annual contribution helps provide financial support to the Friends.

Services/Community Support - The Friends of the Crown Point Library sponsor programs and resources including:

• Summer Reading Club programs for adults, teens and children

• Appearances by authors, storytellers, and musicians

• Facility enhancements benefiting all visitors

• Children, teen and family programs

• Adult and senior citizen programs

• Craft and holiday programs

• Annual bus trips

• Ongoing book sale and two annual book sales

The Friends raise funds by collecting memberships fees, along with the sales from their book sales, basket raffles and other fundraisers. These provide additional support to programs and items not generally covered in the library’s budget.

Membership benefits - As a Friend, you will be able to:

• Attend the ‘members only’ preview sale to the annual book sales

• Receive special invitations to library events

• Promote the library by supporting a variety of free programs

• Know that you are building a partnership between the library and the community for quality service for all of the citizens of Crown Point.
